PROGRAM FEATURES
Quality: Proper training, oversight, and coordination is an on-going basic
service of the program to ensure reliable, quality data is being generated that
can be used for resource management and awareness/educational purposes.
Data Management: Data is stored in Excel spreadsheets that are shared with local
resource managers and entered into the EPA Stored database. Work is currently underway to put all data from River Watch sources as well as SWCD, Watershed, and state and federal sources on an interactive web site for easy access by anyone.
Youth Forum: River Watch students from each school gather annually by
watershed basins to present displays of their sampling program and oral
presentations to discuss the highlights of their past year's monitoring with their peers and local resource managers.
Communications: You will develop news releases conveying basic information about results
of monthly monitoring, make presentations to local community groups, and in
general raise awareness of land and water stewardship issues via communications
related to the River Watch Monitoring Program.
