| MOdel telling a Native American legend to students Read the story. When God Made the Dakotas by Jim Kessler to a a group of 5 students. Discuss art of storytelling; look at audience. speak slowly and with a clear voice. use motions of hands. expression, and know your part of the story very well. Have students divide the story into 5 parts. one for each studnet. Have students reread many times and plan what they will say. Have group practice parts orally many times. Present to class and other class-rooms. If one student forgets or needs help, another student can help. Read story to student who is learning the part. |
