Procedure/Outline

Show 18 min. video from Project Webfoot kit called Canada?s Forest and show map of the Boreal Forest from page 5 of teaching manual, The Boreal Forest: A Global Legacy Volume 7. Pairs of students will work together to cut out the blocks of information on p 34 and 35 titled Introduction to the Boreal. Next have students paste blocks under the correct heading on The Boreal Forest Worksheet on p. 32 and 33. Go through and correct with entire class. Discuss the variety of facts and the ways in which this forest is valued.
