Students will recognize water-related adaptations of some plants and animals.

Procedure/Outline

1.Teacher reads water address cards (riddles) about the beaver,cactus,camel,and fish. 2.After students have guessed what each water address card was, then discuss ways those plants and animals live in water or use it. 3.Divide the class into four groups and give each group an envelope that has the cut-up picture. 4.A student in each group pulls out one strip of paper at a time and the group members try to guess what the plant or animal is. If they cannot guess, another strip is selected, and so on,until they figure out the organism.

Assessments

Teacher observation of each group as they tell the class how their plant or animal uses water to live.
