Objectives

The students will: 1. Identify changes in states of water that enable water to move through the water cycle. 2.Describe the water cycle.

Procedure/Outline

Warm Up: Ask students to draw a diagram of the water cycle and describe what occurs as water moves from one location to another. Activity: 1. Ask students what it would be like to travel through the water cycle with the water. 2. Using their imaginations, the students are going to travel through the water cycle as you guide their journey. 3. Play the tape of the water sounds as you read the script, "Water Cycle Journey" keeping your voice even, level, and clear. Pause 2-3 seconds when you come to the symbol "........." to let the students imagine what they are hearing. WrapUp: 1. After you are done, ask the students for their impressions. 2.Have students look for and record water movements that they observe in their everyday lives (precipitation, evaporation, condensation, clouds). 

Modifications/Adatption/Extensions

1.Have the students create a story about the journey of a water drop through the water cycle. 2.Have them add personification and other enhancements to the basic story line. 

Assessments

Have students: 1. Identify the states of water as it moves through the water cycle. 2. Describe the places the water goes as it travels through the water cycle.
