Procedure/Outline |
| Using at least three different soil samples, students should follow the "Guide to Texture by Feel" worksheet and analyze the soil sample to classify it as sand, loamy sand, sandy clay, silty clay, or clay, sandy clay loam, silty clay loam, or loam. Students then analyze the soil for its ability to hold and retain water and nutrients, infiltration and permeability, erosion by water and wind, and the ability to cultivate it. |
