Distinguish between figurative and literal translations of various water sayings; analyze water-related sayings of diverse culture

copies of Water Sayings, Water Illustrations and Water Scenarios

480 minutes

Procedure/ Outline

Students review water sayings from different countries - Students try to match the water sayings with the illustrations - Students repeat the above trying to determine figurative interpretation - Students design a skit demonstrating the literal and/or figurative interpretation of a proverb - Students try to match sayings to region of origin
