Procedure/ Outline
|
1. Take students to pond, lake, dam or river.
2. Talk to them about safety rules.
3. Distribute bags and nets to students and ask them to gather things they find around the pond.
4. Have students show and tell about things they found around the pond.
5. Have students find templates of what they found around and in pond. 6. Place template on t-shirts and gently and lightly spray liquid bleach over t-shirt and template.
7. Let t-shirt dry. Then take them home to wash and dry and return tem to students so they can remember what they saw in and around the pond.

Modifications /Adaptions/ Extensions

You could reverse procedures and start by making t-shirts in class
one day. The next day let students wear t-shirts on the field trip and look for
and collect the pond life that they put on their own t-shirt |
Assessment

Have students share with class what they found down at the pond.
Have each student make a pond t-shirt

You can do this on two days if you would like. One day for a
