Procedure/ Outline
|
Warm-up: Page 263 - Brainstorm ideas for types of natural disasters (local, state)
Activity Outline:
1. Tell students they are reporters covering a great historical natural disaster.
2. Students split into groups - fashion headline.
3. Discuss research methods specific to their story, and give them a limited amount of time to complete their stories.
4. Peer evaluation of each other's stories.
5. Rewrite and submit final copy to teacher

Assessment
|
Students write stories. Students critique and rewrite. Draw a scene
from the natural disaster they have chosen to write about. Interpret the phrase
