Pencils, student page, word search for vocabulary list, whiteboard, overhead.

Time Requirement

20-30 minutes

Procedure/outline

1. Write word list on board. 2. Pronounce wetland terms, have students repeat them. 3. Class discussion terms. 4. Have the students write and share definitions-define wetland. 5. Hand out word search-do the worksheet. 6. Allow time to complete-closure.

Modifications/Adaptions/ Extensions

Extensions-have students find other words about wetlands-write a poem using the terms.

Assessment

Short Quiz on the terms on the following day.
