Objectives

Students will learn how animals use color to attract their mates, for protection form predators, and prey and defend them.

Standards Addressed

Materials Needed

Colored construction paper, lg. sheet of white paper, crayons, markers, water paints, string, scissors, tape, binder

Time Requirement

60-100 minutes

Procedure/outline

1. Students will create colorful duck wings to wear (use pictures). 2. Will make wing patches for under their arms. 3. Fold the paper like a fan. 4. Color the inside half of folds w/bright colors. 5. Punch a hole in top and bottom of both sides of the wing. 6. Attach to upper arm.

Modifications/Adaptions/ Extensions

Have students create a dance.

Assessment

Have students show the wing model they made and describe what it is for or how it is used.
