Procedure/outline
|
1. Students will already be introduced to the vocabulary and ideas of a watershed. 2. Talk about trips that students have taken in the past. Where did they go? Did everything always to perfectly? 3. Explain the canoe is taking a trip on the river in town. Discuss where the canoe is going? Will it make it to the destination for sure? Possible reasons why not? 4. Find the route of the canoe on a map of the watershed and highlight it. Hang the map in the room to record if any are found and where. 5. Allow for time to decorate and personalize canoes bring sure to record all numbers.

Check on progress of canoes later in year and mark on map. Create a story about the possible things the canoe experienced on its journey. |
