Materials Needed

9 manilla folders, beads, 9 plastic containers, paper cup for each student, copy of water cycle table for each student, 9 square to make dice

Time Requirement

15 minute set-up, 50 minute class time

Procedure/outline

1)Warm up-give each student a piecde of drawing paper. Have them draw what they think the water cycle looks like. Discuss their drawings. 2)Each child will represent a water molecule as they pass through the water cycle. They will roll a die that will tell them where to go next. They will keep trakc of their movements and the hand out by drawing lines from each place they visit.

Modifications/Adaptions/ Extensions

I would only do this much for 1 lesson because this is enough information for 1 session. Part II would be the next day.

Assessment

Draw a new picture and label it to show how water moves through the water cycle. Then they would write and describe what their picture is showing.
