Objectives

Identify forms of water moving through water cycle. Compare & contrast the effects of different water cycle locations. Explain the water cycle.

Standards Addressed

Materials Needed

9 large pieces of paper, 9 paper cups, water journey map, beads, 9 plastic containers, copy of water cycle table, 9 boxes, water pollution chart, whistle

Time Requirement

50 minutes

Procedure/outline

1)There are 9 stations; animals, clouds, glaciers, ground H2O, lakes, oceans, plants, rivers, soil 2)Discuss the conditions that cause the water to move. 3)Assign students to stations. 4)Roll the die and go where "the water moves" (another station). 5)Read the info card that explains the locaiton & movement. 6)Student marks his/her location on the water journey map. 7)Students will pick up one bead from the station to indicate a pollutant picked up at that point.

Modifications/Adaptions/ Extensions

Students will partner up and read cards.

Assessment

Students will discuss in small groups the beads and their connection to pollution.
