Procedure/outline
|
1. Students will work in groups and measure out rope - one color for plant measurement & one color for root length. 2.Tthe ropes are then knotted together with a small picture of plant tied at the knot. 3. Plant ropes are displayed with the knots level-(ground level). |
Modifications/Adaptions/ Extensions
|
The root mass enables plants to be drought resistant and hard to eradicate. Student can extend this activity to graden plants & grasses with comparisons. |
Assessment
|
Students will measure plants & roots accurately & be able to show the soil line on the plant ropes. |
