1. Place students in pairs. 2. Each pair must choose a research and display. Each group should find height of plant and root system, length, color, where it grows, blooming season (if applicable) and other interesting facts found. Students should use books, encyclopedias, websites to find their facts. 3. Each plant needs to be made from paper using pictures as a guide. They should be as real-life as possible. Height of an adult plant should be used-measurement. 4. Once plant is made, use yarn, 4-5 strings. Measure yarn to show the root system of each plant. Use research facts or overhead display to measure accurate root system length. 5. Put plant and root system together. Display on bulletin board. 6. Each pair shares plant informaiton with class. |
