Procedure/ Outline
|
Use a dripping faucet in your classroom to begin to fill a container. Show how
much is in the container after a discussion. Using three plastic jugs with
collecting buckets beneath, assign groups of students to each jug. Jugs are
filled ahead of time with a hole of varying size punched into each. Duct tape
covers the holes. Students have "Down the Drain" worksheet to record volume lost in one minute. Calculate amounts lost and the cost for a day, month and year
