Objectives


Students will review the water cycle, being able to describe the movement of water, states of water as it moves and relative abundance of water at each stage

Materials Needed

9 boxes to be used as dice with appropriate markings. 9 different colored beads. String and paper molecule

Time Requirement

30 minutes playing time

Procedure/ Outline

Each student will make a water molecule out of paper and string. General discussion of water cycle, then assign students to various stations. Students roll die to determine movements of water. Students will log movements to determine abundance of their molecule in each phase

Modifications /Adaptions/ Extensions

Class will chart abundance of water in each phase. Determine relative abundance mathematically. Graph results for essay

Assessment

Students will write an essay on the movement of their molecule through the water cycle using appropriate terms
