Objectives
Students will review the water cycle, being able to describe the movement of water, states of water as it moves and relative abundance of water at each stage
Standards Addressed
1-5 |
9 boxes to be used as dice with appropriate markings. 9 different colored beads.
String and paper molecule
Time Requirement
30 minutes playing time |
Procedure/ Outline
Each student will make a water molecule out of paper and string. General
discussion of water cycle, then assign students to various stations. Students
roll die to determine movements of water. Students will log movements to
determine abundance of their molecule in each phase
Modifications /Adaptions/ Extensions
Class will chart abundance of water in each phase. Determine relative abundance
mathematically. Graph results for essay |
Assessment
Students will write an essay on the movement of their molecule through the water
cycle using appropriate terms
