Objectives

Students will locate a few of the many pathways water travels around the globe (Columbian Exchange). Students will describe how water provides an important mode of transportation for plants and animals

Standards Addressed

Materials Needed

Pencils, copies of Great Water Journey trivia clues and summaries, encyclopedia, copies of a world map, world atlas and wall map

Time Requirement

Prep - 20 minutes
Activity - 50 minutes

Procedure/ Outline


1. Ask students to think back to a journey they took by water; 
2. Discuss how plants and animals have been transported around the world by water - Columbian exchanges, etc.; 
3. Play water trivia game: 
4. Have students sketch the path the subject of their trivia traveled

Assessment

Have students give a presentation of the journey they studied
