We are proud to bring you the International Water Institute’s
Third International Water Conference
“Research and Education in an International Watershed:
Implications for Decision-Making”
&
Red River Basin River Watch Forum
“Youth Perspectives on Local Water Quality”
March 13-15, 2007 at the Alerus Center in Grand Forks
The International Water Institute provides a forum for research, public education, training, and information dissemination relating to flood damage reduction and natural resource protection and enhancement in the Red River of the North Basin.
Plenary speakers and concurrent sessions addressed some of the most problematic issues of water management, flood damage reduction/mitigation, and natural resource protection/development confronting policy makers, scientists, and citizens of the Red River Basin. Abstracts for oral and poster were presented on topics related to the overall conference theme: “Research and Education in an International Watershed: Implications for Decision Making.”
River Watch schools monitor the quality of rivers, creeks, and ditches. High school students involved with water quality monitoring of rivers throughout the Red River of the North Basin shared their perspectives and findings on the health of the basin’s waters.
Every effort was made to make this a true international conference and forum focusing on mutual Canada-U.S. concerns.
